GoldLink – :60 With

Washington D.C. rapper GoldLink started out strong. His 2014 debut The God Complex was heralded by critics and a year later he was tapped by XXL magazine to be part of its Freshman Class crew. He connected with famed producer Rick Rubin for 2015’s And After That, We Didn’t Talk. He has just released new album, At What Cost, which Fader says is a “vivid love letter” his home town. He calls his music “future bounce,” and parts of this new disc allude to the go-go music created by D.C. funk icon Chuck Brown in the ‘70s. To celebrate its arrival, GoldLink took our rapid-fire interview, answering questions about Chicago rapper Dreezy, the Academy Award-winning film Moonlight, Kendrick Lamar, Coachella, and ahhh…booty.
