Dej Loaf – :60 With

:60 with DeJ Loaf.

Detroit rapper DeJ Loaf has been writing songs since she was 9. She was studying nursing in college but left school to go all in on music. Good choice. Her 2012 debut mixtape was titled ‘Just Do It,’ a nod to her love of Nikes (its followup was ‘Sell Sole’). When the smooth and sassy “Try Me” dropped in 2014, Drake quoted the song’s lyrics on his Instagram, the track went viral (and was remixed by Wiz Khalifa), and DeJ’s career shifted into high gear. She signed to Columbia Records, toured with Nikki Minaj, and garnered more than 40M views for “Back Up,” featuring Big Sean. DeJ is gearing up for the release of her debut album, ‘Liberated’, and its new video for “No Fear,” finds her ta riding a bed down an open road. She rolls through our rapid-fire interview, answering questions about the last time she cried, her favorite Detroit artist, and the last concert she went to.
