Slim Jxmmi from Rae Sremmurd shared the journey that led the duo to sign with Mike Will Made It and eventually Interscope Records. The key moment came one night when Slim Jxmmi and his brother Swae Lee waited outside a club to meet Mike Will on his birthday. After a brief, inebriated conversation, Mike gave them his email, igniting their professional relationship. Initially, the brothers recorded tracks like “No Flex Zone” and “We,” which eventually caught Mike Will’s attention due to their unique energy and sound.

Mike Will’s production company, Ear Drummers, facilitated their major breakthrough. As Rae Sremmurd, they transitioned from the indie scene to mainstream success with a deal through a joint venture between Mike Will and Interscope. This marked a significant milestone in their careers, rewarding years of hard work and hustle. Reflecting on the accomplishment, Slim Jxmmi described it as a dream come true, despite initially splurging his newfound wealth.
