Climate Change Is Pushing Indigenous Runners to Smuggle Drugs



The Rarámuri of northern Mexico are known as some of the world’s best ultramarathon runners. Crop failures caused by climate change are increasingly pushing them into the hands of cartels, which employ them to run drugs across hundreds of miles of the US-Mexico borderlands.
