Dead Sara – Dead Sara’s Three Thoughts on Fandom in the Social Media Era

Dead Sara – Three Thoughts on Fandom in the Social Media Era

When Dead Sara mows you down, you don’t soon forget it. The LA trio has had an unharnessed power since its start, over a decade ago. Fusing a handful of their fave musics – from grunge to punk to alt – they hit the gas on a fierce blend that combined the roar of vocalist Emily Armstrong and the kerrrang of guitarist Siouxsie Medley. When “Weatherman” connected with a larger audience in 2012, more lovers of dangerous rock fell under their sway. But they haven’t lost an iota of rage. Check the “Unamerican” video from ‘Temporary Things Taking Up Space’ and you’ll feel how hot the fire actually burns. The band is a more than a little dubious about the speed of modern life and the way social media overvalues ephemeral activities. Watch Armstrong, Medley and drummer Sean Friday discuss the way musicians interact with fans these days in our latest ‘Three Thoughts’ series.
