Reem Abbas is a Sudanese writer and researcher who recently had to flee her home in Khartoum after civil war broke out in April. She recently spoke with VICE live on Twitch about the reality on the ground, where conditions are so dangerous that most journalists have been barred from entering.
So far, the war in Sudan has uprooted over 2.5 million people according to U.N. estimates, mainly from the capital and Darfur region, which was already suffering from two decades of conflict and mass displacement.
