Entrepreneur and politician Vivek Ramaswamy stated in a recent interview that children identifying as transgender experience a mental health disorder. Advocating against sex changes for individuals under 18, Ramaswamy emphasized that children differ significantly from adults and require protection. Ramaswamy, who describes himself as libertarian, supports adults making autonomous choices about their gender and lifestyle, provided they do not harm others. He vehemently opposes biological males competing in women’s sports, calling it unfair and damaging. However, he maintains that individuals should be free to live how they wish regarding personal dignity and identity. Addressing broader safeguarding concerns, Ramaswamy advocates for restricting social media access for children under 16 to protect them from online predators and abuse. He criticized the prevailing cultural norms, accusing a “fringe minority” of imposing its views on the majority, creating a climate of fear that stifles free expression. Concluding, Ramaswamy called for a return to fundamental American values of free speech and personal autonomy.
