The First HIV-Positive Texas House Member

Venton Jones is the first openly HIV-positive member of the Texas House of Representatives. He was elected last year from the same district in Dallas where he grew up and helped lead the fight against 150 anti-LGBTQ bills proposed in the last legislative session. Rep. Jones is also among the first openly HIV-positive members of any state legislature in US history.
